How to upgrade Evaluation edition or use Licence key to the SQL Server Services.
And finally restart services and start the Management Studio.
Run SQL Server 2012 Setup file as administrator and select maintenance link as shown below.
Select Edition Upgrade; Edition Upgrade meaning you are actually Upgrading Evaluation edition to Enterprise edition by entering Licence key. Make sure you have Enterprise Edition KEY only other editions keys are not Accepted.
And finally restart services and start the Management Studio.
Thanks a lot Kasi, you could save my time today.
ReplyDeleteThanks you very much!
ReplyDeleteReally thanks man, this one HELPED ME a lot.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a key. Could you know, how to extend your trial license.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way to extend you trial, there is a work around.
DeleteBackup all the databases.
Uninstall the evaluation edition. re-install evaluation edition and restore all the backups.
Hi,
DeleteYou tested this workaround? It's really working?
Thanks, but SQL server 2012 doesnt use a key. where would I get a Key from? MS has confirmed that SQL 2012 doesnt use a key
ReplyDeleteIts good question. I was confused, but how come microsoft sells License for SQL Server when SQL 2012 does not use the key. Then I started my research yes Microsoft SQL Server KEY information is stored in REGISTRIES.
ReplyDeleteBelow is the path where you find the key information for licensed copies.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Setup DIGITALPRODUCT ID
I created new post on this.
